“On behalf of the OBI Board of Directors, we want to thank you for your generous commitment and support through filming and then producing two videos that portray what we do on a daily basis. These videos welcome visitors on our website to experience OBI without necessarily visiting us here on site and are also extremely effective presentation tools.” – Vicki Callahan, Executive Director and Jennifer Brienza, OBI President
Every year, Digital Bard commits almost 15% of our budget to creating marketing and fund-raising videos for deserving non-profits. This money supplements the small budgets non-profit organizations typically have, enhancing the reach of their available funds.
This summer, we worked with Opportunity Builders, Inc. (OBI) near Annapolis, MD. This organization provides vocational training and job placement for adults with disabilities. It is a wonderful facility with a dedicated staff, so our challenge was not finding a good story to tell. Rather, the tough part was editing from so MANY good stories.
In addition to an overview video, we decided the OBI story could best be exemplified by highlighting one “case study” – that of Diana Kootsikas. When Diana was young, doctors told her parents she should be in an institution and would never be part of a “normal” community. But her parents were determined to see Diana live a full life, and with the help of OBI, Diana is now paid to monitor the lunch room in an elementary school.
Here is a peek inside Diana’s “Beautiful Life.”
